Slidebox

This Privacy Policy explains how Slidebox ("we," "us," or "this App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Android application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Collected by the App Itself

Slidebox is primarily a local photo-sorting and cleanup client. Core sorting, album filing, recycle-bin handling, cleanup helpers, preferences, and widget-related caches are processed on your device. It does not require you to register or sign in, and it does not upload your photos or videos to our servers for an account system. Specifically:

• We do not require your name, mailing address, national ID number, or similar information as mandatory collection items;
• Sorting preferences, theme and display settings, batch size, haptic options, language, recycle-bin metadata, cleanup progress markers, and widget-related cached counts are primarily stored on your device (in the app's private storage / local preferences);
• Photos you file into custom albums may be written under the device media library (for example, under Pictures/Slidebox/) using the Android MediaStore APIs;
• Operations such as browsing and sorting photos, moving items to Trash, filing into albums, detecting duplicates / blur / screenshots, scanning large videos, updating the home-screen widget, and showing local progress notifications are processed primarily on your device; we do not operate a user-account backend or cloud service to store your photo library or individual photo sorting decisions.

On-device image metadata (such as EXIF orientation or limited tags used to recognize features like HDR / motion photos) may be read locally to support those features. This App does not upload photo or video content to our servers for that purpose.

1.2 Information Related to Third-Party Services

This App does not integrate advertising SDKs (such as AdMob), and we do not use the Advertising ID to show personalized ads in the App. We do not operate a user-account backend or cloud service for storing users' personal account data. General note: Data collected through Firebase is used primarily for analytics and app improvement. Google processes such data in accordance with its privacy policy. We do not upload your photos, videos, album contents, or sorting preferences through Firebase.

Important: We do not provide a user account system, and we do not operate our own servers for storing users' personal data. Data processed by Firebase is subject to Google's data retention and security practices; retention periods follow Google's rules.

2. Permissions Requested by the App

To provide the corresponding features, this App declares or may use the following permissions (subject to your device system and the final merged application manifest):

Permission	Purpose
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES	Used to read photos on your device so you can browse, sort, file into albums, and run photo cleanup helpers.
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED	Used on Android 14 and above when you grant access to selected photos only, so the App can work with the photos you chose without requiring full library access.
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_VIDEO	On demand. Requested when you use large-video cleanup so the App can scan eligible videos. Not required to start core photo sorting.
android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (maxSdkVersion 32)	Used on older Android versions (API 32 and below) for media read compatibility.
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Optional (requested as required by the system on Android 13 and above). Used for local progress / sorting-related notifications when those features need to inform you.
android.permission.VIBRATE	Used for haptic feedback during swipe sorting and related interactions when haptics are enabled.
android.permission.INTERNET android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (merged via libraries such as Firebase)	Present in the final App package for Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics network transmission and connectivity checks. Not used to upload your photos/videos, provide an account/cloud gallery backup, or run an in-app advertising network.
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK (merged via libraries such as Firebase / Google Play services)	Used by library / system components for short work windows so analytics or related SDK operations can complete reliably.
Advertising / measurement identifiers (e.g. com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID and related AdServices permissions, if merged)	May appear via Google / Firebase libraries for analytics and measurement. This App does not use them to show personalized ads inside the App.

Note: This App requests only the permissions needed for its features. You may manage or revoke some permissions in system settings; revocation may affect related features (for example, inability to load photos, scan videos, or show notifications).

3. Widgets, Recycle Bin, Albums, and Other On-Device Features

This App provides a home screen widget that can display on-device summary information (such as cached photo counts or recycle-related space summaries) using data already available on your device. Widget updates do not require location permission.

Items you swipe to Trash are kept in an in-app Recycle Bin first so you can undo. Storage is typically freed only after you permanently delete or empty Trash through the system deletion flow.

Custom albums created by this App are stored through the device media library. This App does not provide cloud sync of your gallery, online social feeds, or personalized advertising recommendations. The App uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics as described in Section 1.2.

4. How We Use Information

We use related information only for the following purposes:

• To provide and improve this App's photo sorting, cleanup, album filing, recycle-bin, widget, and related on-device features;
• To keep preferences and local state available between sessions on your device;
• To deliver local notifications you enable for sorting / progress feedback;
• To provide haptic feedback when enabled;
• To optionally open the Google Play in-app review flow;
• To analyze aggregated app usage and diagnose crashes through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, in order to improve stability and product quality.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share personal information for advertising purposes. Technical data may be transmitted to Google (Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics, and Google Play for in-app review) solely to provide analytics, crash reporting, or review functionality. Data processing or disclosure may occur only in the following circumstances:

• Google Firebase: analytics events and crash diagnostic data are processed by Google under Google's privacy policy, as described in section 1.2;
• Google Play: in-app review interactions are handled by Google Play;
• Legal requirements: where required by law, or upon a lawful request by a court or other competent authority, we may disclose necessary information as required.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously. Data related to this App's core sorting and management features is processed primarily on your device. When Firebase Analytics / Crashlytics transmissions occur, network transmission typically uses secure protocols such as HTTPS/TLS. We will not sell your data or use it in ways inconsistent with this Policy. We do not operate a user-account backend or cloud service for storing your photo library or individual photo sorting decisions.

Please note: photos and videos remain part of your device MediaStore. If you use OEM gallery cloud sync, device transfer, or other backup tools outside this App, those services are governed by their own policies and settings—not by an upload performed by Slidebox to a separate gallery-account service.

7. Children's Privacy

This App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe there is a related issue, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page (or the same in-app link), and the "Last updated" date will be revised. For material changes, we will provide notice in an appropriate manner as required by applicable law. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

9. Your Rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may have the right to know about, access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of information related to you. Because this App is primarily local, you can usually manage local data through in-app features such as restoring or permanently deleting Trash items, managing albums, or by clearing app storage / uninstalling the app in system settings. You may also revoke photo, video, or notification permissions in system settings. You may uninstall this App at any time to stop using it; after uninstall, data in the app's private directory is deleted according to system rules.

Because we do not store your photo library or individual photo sorting decisions on our servers as a cloud account, there is no server-side request for access, correction, or deletion of that local content from "our cloud."
