DozeSounds

This Privacy Policy explains how DozeSounds ("we," "us," or "this App") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Android application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Collected by the App Itself

DozeSounds is a local relaxation and ambient-sound player. Sounds included in the App are played from the app package on your device. Core preferences and saved content are processed on your device. It does not require you to register or sign in, and it does not upload personally identifiable information to our servers for an account system. Specifically:

• We do not require your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, or national ID number as mandatory collection items;
• Theme, language, bedtime reminder time, favorites, saved mixes, sleep timer, recent playback history, and player state are stored on your device (in the app's private storage);
• If you choose a custom cover image for a mix, the image you select through the system picker (or a photo taken through the system camera) is copied into the app's private storage. We do not upload that image to our servers;
• Operations such as playing and mixing sounds, saving mixes, setting a sleep timer, and showing a bedtime reminder are processed on your device. We do not operate a user-account backend or cloud service to store your mixes, covers, or playback history.

If you open the privacy-policy link, the system browser or another app you choose handles that request. That destination's privacy practices are separate from this App.

1.2 Information Related to Third-Party Services

This App does not integrate advertising SDKs (such as AdMob), and we do not show ads in the App. We do not use the Advertising ID to serve personalized advertisements. We do not operate a user-account backend or cloud service for storing users' personal account data. This App uses the following third-party services, which may collect certain information:

General note: Data collected through Firebase is used primarily for analytics and app improvement. Google processes such data in accordance with its privacy policy. We do not upload your saved mixes, custom cover images, favorites, or playback history through Firebase.

Important: We do not provide a user account system, and we do not operate our own servers for storing users' personal data. Data processed by Firebase is subject to Google's data retention and security practices; retention periods follow Google's rules.

2. Permissions Requested by the App

To provide the corresponding features, this App declares or may use the following permissions (subject to your device system and the final merged application manifest). Some permissions are added by included libraries, such as Firebase Analytics, rather than by app features you configure.

Permission	Purpose
android.permission.INTERNET	Used for Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics network transmission. This App does not stream ambient sounds from our servers and does not provide an account, cloud backup, or an in-app advertising network.
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (added by Media3 ExoPlayer 1.8.0; also merged from Firebase Analytics measurement libraries)	Used by included libraries such as Media3 and Firebase to check network connectivity. DozeSounds plays bundled sounds and does not stream ambient audio from its servers.
android.permission.VIBRATE	Used for optional vibration feedback on your device. This permission does not access contacts, messages, or other personal content.
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Optional (requested when needed on Android 13 and above). Used to show playback controls while sounds are playing, and to show a bedtime reminder if you turn that feature on. The App asks in context when you start playback or enable the reminder. You may decline; playback can continue, but notification controls and reminders may not appear.
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK	Used so ambient sounds can keep playing while the App is in the background, together with a playback notification. This is a media-playback foreground service. This App does not use a foreground service for location tracking.
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION (merged via Firebase Analytics)	Present because Firebase Analytics is included. Used only so Firebase can read an advertising identifier for analytics, if the device provides one. This App does not show ads and does not use these permissions for personalized advertising.

Note: This App requests only the permissions needed for its features and included libraries. You may manage or revoke some permissions in system settings. Revoking notification permission may hide playback controls and bedtime reminders.

3. Playback, Mixes, and Other On-Device Features

This App lets you play bundled ambient sounds, combine them into mixes, save mixes with an optional custom cover, mark favorites, set a sleep timer, and optionally set a bedtime reminder. Those features use data stored on your device.

While sounds are playing, a media-playback foreground service keeps playback going and can show a notification with playback controls if notification permission is allowed.

This App does not provide cloud sync, social feeds, accounts, or personalized advertising. The App uses Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics as described in Section 1.2.

4. How We Use Information

We use related information only for the following purposes:

• To play ambient sounds and keep playback available in the background;
• To save your mixes, covers, favorites, theme, language, sleep timer, and bedtime reminder on your device;
• To show playback-control and bedtime-reminder notifications when you allow notifications and enable the related feature;
• To analyze aggregated app usage and diagnose crashes through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, in order to improve stability and product quality.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share personal information for advertising purposes. We do not upload your mixes, custom covers, or playback history to our own servers. Data processing or disclosure may occur only in the following circumstances:

• Google Firebase: analytics events and crash diagnostic data are processed by Google under Google's privacy policy, as described in section 1.2;
• Actions you start: if you open an external link, the destination app or browser receives that request under its own policy;
• Legal requirements: where required by law, or upon a lawful request by a court or other competent authority, we may disclose necessary information as required.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously. Data related to this App's playback and mix features is processed on your device. When Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics transmissions occur, network transmission typically uses secure protocols such as HTTPS/TLS. We will not sell your data or use it in ways inconsistent with this Policy. We do not operate a user-account backend or cloud service for storing your mixes, covers, or playback history.

Android backup for this App is disabled in the application manifest (allowBackup is false). Local app data is not offered by us as a cloud backup of your mixes or covers.

7. Children's Privacy

This App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe there is a related issue, please contact us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page (or the same in-app link), and the "Last updated" date will be revised. For material changes, we will provide notice in an appropriate manner as required by applicable law. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

9. Your Rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may have the right to know about, access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of information related to you. Because this App is primarily local, you can usually manage local data through in-app features such as deleting saved mixes or custom covers, turning off the bedtime reminder, or by clearing app storage / uninstalling the app in system settings. You may also revoke notification permission in system settings. You may uninstall this App at any time to stop using it; after uninstall, data in the app's private directory is deleted according to system rules.

Because we do not store your mixes, covers, or playback history on our servers as a cloud account, there is no server-side request for access, correction, or deletion of that local content from "our cloud." For information processed by Google Firebase, you may also use the controls described in Google's privacy policy.
